Hi!  I'm Dr. Shelly Mackowski.  I grew up on a small family farm in Mayfield, NY where my love for animals, particularly cows started.  After high school I completed first an associate's at SUNY Cobleskill and then a bachelor's at Cornell University in Animal Science.  From there I attended Iowa State University where I received my DVM in 2004.  From 2004 until June 2018 I worked as a large animal veterinarian for Copake Veterinary Hospital in Columbia County.

 

In 2004 I married my sweetheart who patiently waited for me to finish my schooling.  We welcomed our daughter Bronwyn in 2009 and our son Kimball in 2012.  Some of my pasttimes include hiking, ice fishing, camping, and target shooting.

While I grew up locally, I only recently became part of the Midvale family.

My first love is the dairy cow, but I also bring experience with many other species including sheep, goats, camelids, pigs, and poultry, as well as small animals.
